Teaching Philosophy

"I wish I hadn't quit." This is the most frequent comment I hear whenever I tell someone that I play the piano. My ultimate goal is to instill a lifelong passion for playing the piano and inspire students to develop a skill that they can take with them wherever they are in life .  In a time where everything revolves around instant gratification, piano provides an outlet where students learn to enjoy the process and take pride in the artistry that is a product of their hard work.

My lessons focus on technique, musicality, memorization, and theory fundamentals. Semester recitals will provide students the opportunity to develop their stage presence skills and display their hard work in front of an audience. Lessons are available for students of all ages and abilities. Please email devinepianostudio@gmail.com to schedule an interview.
